Apologies for no blog yesterday, we had no power for most of the weekend. It was pretty hard having no electricity and I can honestly say I have a new appreciation for it and all it does for us. There are people still without power here and I shudder at that thought. We are dependant on these ‘necessities’ for life. You notice I put that word in quotes. Many people across this world live without power, they survive, it needs a different perspective, a different outlook that would be almost impossible once you have lived as we live. But necessity?

There’s a song by Casting Crowns called Thrive. I love this song, when it comes on the radio my heart cheers and I punch the air in time with the lyrics.

We know we were made for so much more
Than ordinary lives
It’s time for us to more than just survive
We were made to thrive

Joy unspeakable, faith unsinkable,
Love unstoppable, anything is possible

I was reading 2 Corinthians this morning and that reminded me of this song too.

In light of this, we live with a daring passion and know that our time spent in this body is also time we are not present with the Lord. The path we walk is charted by faith, not by what we see with our eyes. There is no doubt that we live with a daring passion, but in the end we prefer to be gone from this body so that we can be at home with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:6-8

Do you live with a daring passion? Do you live as if you are thriving? With unspeakable joy, unsinkable faith, unstoppable love as if anything is possible? I know I don’t, not for more than a brief second or two at a time. But the reality is that this life is the fleeting second and eternity awaits.

Daring passion making me thrive. I like the sound of that.
