Blurry

Let me see clearly so that I may take in the amazing things coming from Your law. Psalm 119:18 Let me see clearly - clearly is the word that prodded me there. It's not enough to just see. I see lots of things. I look around my room and I see everything. I see them clearly too … Continue reading Blurry

Harmony

I don't have a lot to say today. Just one thought that filled my walk first thing, hung around during my quiet time, stayed as I prayed and popped up again as I drove to work. If I don't love then everything I do is pointless. 'Duh Jules', you might say. Indeed, basic stuff but … Continue reading Harmony

Triple Blessing

I sensed a theme this morning as I read my readings. The Lord, the Eternal, equipped me for this job— with skilled speech, a smooth tongue for instruction. I can find the words that comfort and soothe the downtrodden, tired, and despairing. And I know when to use them. Each morning, it is God who wakes me and tells me what … Continue reading Triple Blessing

Make Space

Wow, it is dusty in here... I've been busy in the mornings which is my time to write. But today I had a burning desire to share something with you. I wrote 3 years ago about today's verse. X Marks the Spot. I stand by what I wrote then, this is an extension I think. Deep … Continue reading Make Space

I love you. That’s it!
Thank you Jesus.
God is GOOD!!!!!

THE RIVER WALK

Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am.
Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!
(John 17:24)

Read: 2 Samuel 13:1-39, John 17:1-26, Psalm 119:81-96, Proverbs 16:6-7

Relate: Read, write, pray, preach. If you were going to sum up my life’s ambitions into four words, those would be it. Periodically I look inward at what I am doing with my time and money and if there are any major things that don’t fit into these four categories, it gets cut. If you were to add a fifth thing to this list, then it would be to teach. Although I am in a season of my life where I am doing teaching probably more than anything else, I still don’t think my passion or ability to do so is as great…

(k)no(w) where to sit

As He is...so are we

I never knew where to sit. Every lunch period of every day of every year at school. I was liked by others, I think, or maybe more so tolerated. I’ll never know fully I suppose. All I remember is peering into the large cafeteria in the middle of the entrance with its heavy doors and push bars wondering and posing the internal question…”where do I sit?”

I was never hated in school, that I know of, but it doesn’t seem like I was much liked either. No enemy but no real friends. Maybe others felt ambivalence towards me. The one friend I did know in school never had the same lunch period as me but I knew his other friends wouldn’t have me at their table. So I either sat at the “nerd” table or the table my other friend from Lebanon sat at. Moe was his name. He was…
