Global Goal

I was in the cinema last night and watched 2 films; the trailers changed because the movies were aimed at different groups but one advert remained the same. The UN has made a 15 year plan with 17 goals – global goals. You can read about them here. I don’t have any problem with any of their goals; they are worthwhile and admirable. It’s just they are quite a few millennia late.

13 And, when all is said and done, here is the last word: worship in reverence the one True God, and keep His commands, for this is what God expects of every person.

Ecclesiastes 12:13

If we did that then every one of those goals would be met.

Jesus: 29 The most important commandment is this: “Hear, O Israel, the Eternal One is our God, and the Eternal One is the only God. 30 You should love the Eternal, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.”[a] 31 The second great commandment is this: “Love others in the same way you love yourself.”[b] There are no commandments more important than these.

Mark 12:29-31

There are no goals greater than these because they put right everything that is wrong with our world today in two simple steps. Even better not only does God give us the solution but He provides the means.

Our teaching about this journey is intended to bring us to a single destination—a place where self-giving love reigns from a pure heart, a clean conscience, and a genuine faith.

1 Timothy 1:5

14 But He poured His grace over me, and I was flooded in an abundance of the grace and faith and love that can only be found in Jesus the Anointed.

1 Timothy 1:14

We can strive in our human strength to achieve and attain all God wants for us but until we get new hearts, until we find a new way of living together there will be no long lasting success. If we could do it ourselves we wouldn’t have needed a Saviour. I was torn between tagging this blog as discipleship or prayer. I think it has to be both.

16 But it is for this reason I was given mercy: by displaying His perfect patience in me, the very worst of all sinners, Jesus the Anointed could show that patience to all who would believe in Him and gain eternal life.

1 Timothy 1:16

  1. “The greatest thing in all my life, is loving, knowing, serving, You!”
Let that be our goal, That we may know Him and love Him, and serve Him, so faithfully that the Good News is scattered all around, wherever we go.
Then the 17 goals will be met.
